Aerosystems, the airborne arm of Daishsat Geodetic Surveyors, recently completed a helimag and radiometrics survey in Wollogorang, NT. The helimag system is well suited to rugged areas where the low and slow nature of the helicopter can maintain consistent and tight terrain drape, much more safely and reliably than a fixed wing platform. The system is stinger mounted for reduced pilot workload and can also collect highly detailed radiometrics. The system is highly productive, often collecting over 1,500 line km per day and can be based close to survey area away from airstrips and other infrastructure. Line km rates are typically 30% the cost of traditional helimag surveys with no loss of detail. More details of the system can be found at www.aerosystems.com.au
